Barnet's Continuum of Support

Barnet's Continuum of Support provides a guide for all organisations supporting children, young people and their families to help direct them to the right services and to provide a consistent level of response.  The tool aims to promote the welfare and safety of vulnerable children and young people by providing targeted support services at the earliest opportunity.

Click through to our 'Menu of Interventions' to find out more about the range of interventions and services available across Barnet.  The site is aimed at professionals in the community to help them identify the right help for families first time but will also be of interest to parents and carers.

Children with more complex needs may require support from a social worker - click here for more information on social work services for children with SEND.

Early Help

We provide help and support to children, young people and their families from before birth, up to the age of 19 (or 25 if they have special educational needs or a disability). All families face challenges and sometimes need support. Early Help is about providing you with this at the right time.

We operate from 3 geographical areas or ‘hubs’, which enable us to be closer to where families live. With our partners, we provide a range of services, some of which are accessible to everyone and others that are more targeted.
