There are five Barnet Leading Edge Groups (LEGs). The LEGs focus on a specific additional educational need. The Leading-edge groups are parents and professionals from education, social care and health; they are facilitated by educational psychologists and specialist teachers. We actively seek representation from interested parents, young people and relevant professionals.
The groups, and their group leads are:

We support Barnet to take a strategic lead to help early years settings, schools and further education colleges and provision to improve outcomes for our children, young people and their families. We study best practice, explore latest research and use the expertise of the parents and professionals in the leading-edge group. We facilitate a coproduced approach that can inform local authority SEND guidelines and practice. When possible, we research to try and find out the best ways to help our children make progress and to have successful placements. We meet termly to work effectively together to influence practice in educational settings. We all have different roles and support the group according to our different perspectives.
