What can Schools offer?

  Schools can offer pastoral support to children who are struggling with their wellbeing and some schools  

  have School Counsellors. Educational Psychologists can help schools to think about a child's wellbeing needs

  and schools can also access mental health support through:

   Child and Adolescent Mental Health services (CAMHs)

 

  Barnet Resilient Schools Programme

  Barnet schools can also be supported through the Resilient Schools Programme.

  Barnet Integrated Clinical Service (BICS)

Barnet schools (as well as young people, families and other professionals) can refer to BICS to support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.  BICS offer a range of individual and family evidence-based interventions, alongside groups and workshops.  BICS can meet face-to-face or virtually either in school or in the community.  BICS also offer range of online content to support wellbeing and good mental health in Barnet.

What can I do myself as a young person?

 - Young Minds is a charity working to improve children and young people's mental health. They provide lots of information about different areas of life that might affect your mental health from social media and mental health to racism and mental health. Have a look to find out more:

Young Minds also gives helpful information about what you can do if you are experiencing different things that are difficult such as bullying, loneliness, abuse, exam stress, body image, anger, grief and loss or eating problems. There is also advice about how to get more help.
