Description of activity

Our Qualified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (QTVI) support any child or young person (0-25) with a significant sight impairment that is not correctable by glasses. We offer guidance, advice and support to schools and families in order to maximise opportunities for learning and inclusion so that children and young people with a visual impairment can achieve their potential.

Referral Criteria

• The child/young person must have a diagnosis of a visual impairment that cannot be corrected by glasses.
• Medical information must be provided, clearly indicating the child’s level of visual impairment
• Parents must have given permission for the referral to be made
• The child or young person must be resident in Barnet
