The training is an opportunity for the Barnet school community to learn more about attachment theory, and what attachment looks like in school. It will also include ways to support the learning and emotional wellbeing of children and young people who experience attachment needs.
The workshop aims to:
•Explain what we mean by "attachment", and how a child's attachment influences their emotional wellbeing, relationships and learning
•Explore how different attachement strategies present in school
•Share the latest research in attachment theory, with links to neurodevelopment and early trauma research
•Provide opportunities to reflect on the children/young people you work with from an attachment perspective
•Share practical and psychologically informed approaches to support the achievement and wellbeing of this group of children & young people
