SEND Self-Evaluation Framework (SEF) Summary

The SEF Summary has been produced to highlight the progress that Barnet has made in implementing the SEND Reforms, against the six Priorities of Barnet’s SEND Strategy 2017 – 2020.  Information on the progress and impact of the work undertaken is included, alongside information on how we are addressing issues in a cycle of continuous improvement.

A report on the progress made will be put on the Local Offer website in March 2020, and the SEF Summary document will be revised in September 2020.

SEND Improvement Plan

Our SEND Improvement Plan aims to operationalise the objectives set out in our strategy for children and young people with special educational needs and disability (SEND) aged 0-25 years.  It is based upon the insights gathered through our local area self-evaluation and SEND joint strategic needs assessment.

A multi-agency group of senior leaders provides oversight of the Improvement Plan during monthly meetings of the SEND Development Group.

SEND workstreams

The SEND Development Group has initiated 9 groups ("workstreams") which will focus on delivering improvements in a specified area. These areas were selected following our most recent self-evaluation.

We will be publishing the delivery plans for these workstreams in Summer 2019, and providing updates on progress.
