Please attend if you are new to Down syndrome and want a good introduction to the needs of pupils and how to meet those needs in the early years, primary and secondary school context.

Outline/Objectives:
This zoom course provides a summary of the needs of children and young people with Down syndrome and key issues in their education.

Please attend if you are new to Down Syndrome and want a good introduction to the needs of pupils and how to meet those needs in the early years and school context. The training is suitable for Heads of Inclusion, SENCOs, class teachers, TAs and LSAs. Parents are also welcome to attend.

We will summarise the specific learning approach of pupils who have Down syndrome and focus on teaching methods that are appropriate for their specific needs. We will cover practical ideas and present a good background by the end of the morning.

The course will be in two 60 minute sessions with a 15 minute break. There will then be an optional question and answer discussion session.
