Barnet’s Hearing Impairment Team are offering SENCOs, teachers and teaching assistants the opportunity to develop skills in working with hearing impaired children in primary schools.
The training will cover:

• How we hear and an understanding of different types / levels of deafness, including your pupil’s specific hearing loss.
• The impact that a hearing loss may have socially, educationally and emotionally.
• Listening through a hearing aid and a radio system - giving you the opportunity to hear what it sounds like.
• Basic trouble shooting of a hearing aid.
• Inclusive strategies, the listening environment and reasonable adjustments.
