Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services - Barnet (CAMHS)
Description of activity

We are a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals who work closely with other children's services to support children and young people.

We provide assessment, treatment and support of the mental health, behavioural and emotional well-being needs of children and young people aged from 0-18 years. The types of problems we help with include:

•Emotional difficulties such as anxiety, depression, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder and school refusal
•Behavioural problems such as aggression, delinquency, unmanageable behaviour and hyperactivity
•Eating and feeding disorders
•Severe psychiatric illness such as psychosis
•Self harm or risk of self harm (please note that all those who have taken overdoses should be taken to the local A& E department)
•Trauma including post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma following abuse
•Sleeping, feeding and behavioural difficulties in under 5's that result in severe disruption of family life and development
